MY STORY:

Born from a trip to Maine, a dear friend, two adorable kiddos, and a love of design, vdH KIDS is my baby!

After 6 years in the NYC fashion industry, I was feeling burnt out and unfulfilled creatively when a childhood friend approached me about creating a kids clothing line. During a subsequent trip to Maine to visit her sweet kiddos, the seed for van der Harten KIDS was planted.  

In the weeks and months that followed I spent hours upon hours in my little one bedroom apartment - sketching designs, drafting patterns and sewing prototypes for my little models. Slowly but surely a pipe dream became reality and vdH KIDS was born. 

As my line began to take shape, I focused my efforts on fixing the things that have always bothered me about the fashion industry.  It broke my heart to see the amount of waste that was created on a daily basis, so I set about finding ways to create sustainable, eco-friendly pieces.

I forged wonderful partnerships with manufacturers and makers right here in the good-old U.S. of A!  Through these collaborations I am able to bring you a line that focuses on fair wages for workers and environmental preservation, so that you can feel good about what your littles adventure in!
